CJ-A Retrievable Service Packer — Full Opening, Compression Set

Model CJ-A Retrievable Service Packer is a full opening, compression set packer applicable for a wide variety of well treating and producing installations. Running with Model CSV Storm Valve, it is also a Storm Packer to provide well control protection during temporary abandonment of the well, without having to pull the bottom hole assembly. A wide range of sizes are available for use in 4 1/2″–16″ casing.

Model CJ-A packers feature a large internal bypass through the packer. The bypass provides free flow of fluids through the packer during running, retrieving, and circulation, thus greatly reducing packing element swabbing effect and Hold Down Piston wear. These packers are used when high differential pressure from below the packer is anticipated and utilizes hydraulically actuated Hold Down Pistons to anchor the packer against upward movement. This same hydraulic pressure also acts on a balance piston, which is located just below the closed face seal. The piston moves downward and shoulders on body thus placing a downward force on the body and face seal. This action eliminates excessive tubing set-down weight required to keep the bypass closed.

• Surface controlled combination bypass and equalizing valve
• Tubing pressure actuated hydraulic piston eliminates excessive set down weight requirements — far more efficient than collet type locking systems
• Automatic Jay Unit: setting accomplished by running to depth, picking up a few feet, rotating 2/3 turns to the right and setting down
• Straight pickup will first open the bypass valve and equalize pressure; continued pickup will release the packer and automatically return it to the running position
• Left Hand or Manual Jay Units are also available
• All pressure bearing o-rings have backups for higher pressure resistance
• P110 Body, Coupling and Sub for high load applications
• API EUE Connections as standard
