PX / PXN Blanking Plug

The PX / PXN Blanking Plug is a device capable of holding pressure differentials from above or below when set at any X / XN Profile Landing Nipple of the same size. These Blanking Plug assemblies consist of two sub-assemblies: X / XN Lock Mandrel Assembly and Equalizing Prong Assembly.

The X Lock Mandrel Assembly is a selective set lock designed to be landed and locked, down-hole, in an X Profile Landing Nipple. Equalizing Sub Assemblies and a variety of sub-surface flow control devices may be attached to this lock mandrel before running.

The XN Lock Mandrel Assembly is similar to the X Lock Mandrel except for the locking keys. The keys for the XN Lock Mandrels are chamfered so they will pass through an X Profile Landing Nipple up hole. This allows the XN Lock Mandrel and flow control device to be lowered through X Profile Landing Nipples in the tubing string and land in an XN Profile Landing Nipple which is always installed at the lower end or bottom of tubing string. The No-Go shoulder of the XN Lock Mandrel is located on the flow control device.

The Equalizing Prong Assembly, including Equalizing Prong and Equalizing Sub, when attached to an X / XN Lock Mandrel Assembly, converts the lock mandrel to a plug, with equalizing device, capable of holding pressure differentials from above or below.
